Job Title: Travel RN - Orthopedic Surgery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care hospital as an Orthopedic RN License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS preferred, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Minimum 1-year experience in an acute care hospital as an Orthopedic RN BLS certification Description: This position is for a Travel RN specializing in Orthopedic Surgery. The unit consists of 30 beds and a dedicated nursing staff. There will be 1 charge nurse, 4-6 bedside RNs, and 2-4 patient care technicians. The patient ratio is typically 1:5 or 1:6. Equipment used in the unit includes continuous passive motion machines, nerve block pumps, and On-Q balls. The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech. Typical procedures performed include IV starts, Foley, and straight catheterization, along with early mobilization. Candidates should have a positive attitude and be team players. This unit is focused on providing great teamwork and exceptional patient experience. The patient population features a mix of elective orthopedic patients and orthopedic trauma patients.
