This role will own rapidly developed, ruggedized product introduction in addition to scaling legacy design concepts to support full-rate production. You will also be leading a team of engineers, and establishing robust design, integration, testing, and validation processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Chief Engineer to drive a rapid prototyping, growth mindset to the team while ensuring concepts are developed with the required engineering rigor to scale rapidly to production-ready designs capable of reliable deployment throughout the world.WHAT YOU’LL DOLead Family of Systems Development from concept through production, ensuring seamless integration, reliability, and performance across Anduril's internal stakeholders.Manage and mentor a team of ~5-6 Mechanical Engineers, driving technical execution and professional growth within the Mechanical Engineering team.Oversee full-cycle Subsystem and Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) development, guiding requirements derivation, mechanical design and system integration, validation and reliability testing, and transition to manufacturing.Ensure engineering excellence by overseeing design reviews, analysis, and hardware testing to ensure product reliability in many of the harshest environments on earth.Coordinate with internal and manufacturing, quality, and reliability partners to ensure high-quality documentation required for high-quality production and delivery.Support critical hardware demonstrations with internal and external customers as needed.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS8+ years of mechanical/electromechanical design experience in a professional setting with engineering management experience.Proven experience transitioning products from concepts into ruggedized fielded products. Experience with military hardware a plus.3D CAD proficiency (any platform) and ability to understand and apply GD&T to create high quality engineering drawings.Experience with production processes, including machining, sheet metal, injection molding, welding, wire harnessing and 3D printing to inform design for manufacturability.BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in NX/Teamcenter for design, production release, and change management.M.Eng, MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Experience developing ruggedized electromechanical assemblies from concept to low-rate production for automotive, space, or military applications.Ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs (motors, controllers, sensors, radars etc.).US Salary Range$191,000—$253,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
