Part-Time Meteorologist

Overview KRCG 13 has an exciting opportunity for you! We have an open position for a part-time meteorologist! The main day to day responsibilities of the role will include… Forecasting, producing and presenting clear and concise weather casts, which tell a story and connect with viewers Issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events Utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories Work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations Qualifications Previous on-air experience presenting weather and news information is preferred Extensive digital savvy, excellent writing skills Previous experience preferred with The Weather Company (WSI) Thorough knowledge of how to maximize The Weather Company (WSI) to create distinctive graphics presentations High energy and engaging personality Willingness to come in off duty when severe weather threatens our area Team player, someone who understands it's about the team, not one individual Proven track record of covering severe weather on-air and on digital Proof of strong social media engagement While applying online, please include a link to your online demo reel.
