Account Executive (Home Health)

Why This Role Matters

The Home Health Account Executive is responsible for growing home health referrals within an assigned territory. This role builds and maintains relationships with physicians, facilities, discharge planners, social workers, home care providers, and community agencies; develops territory growth plans; and serves as a liaison between referral sources, patients and families, and internal care teams.

How You'll Contribute

• Drive overall business development and referral growth across an assigned territory, including facilities, physicians, home care providers, and community agencies.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate quarterly and annual territory plans to achieve growth goals.
• Build strong business relationships with targeted referral sources through effective sales calls, presentations, and follow-up activities.
• Maintain current knowledge of provider services and communicate information about new products, programs, and service delivery to referral partners.
• Serve as a liaison between physicians, facility nurses, social workers, discharge planners, community agencies, referral sources, and internal agency teams.
• Meet with patients and families as needed to discuss home care services, address individual needs and concerns, and manage expectations.
• Partner with intake and patient care resource staff to ensure effective communication and coordination with referral sources.
• Maintain customer and competitor profiles, document daily call activity, and track follow-up plans in the appropriate systems.
• Participate in community marketing and educational activities, including physician visits, lunch-and-learns, health fairs, speaker bureau events, and CEU programs for healthcare providers.
• Prepare monthly referral-source tracking reports and communicate marketplace changes affecting providers and competitors.
• Use agency and department-specific software, CRM tools, and office applications to complete reporting, documentation, and assigned work.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, provide and receive constructive feedback, and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in home care sales or a related industry, with a demonstrated record of achieving incremental direct-sales growth.
• Excellent oral communication, relationship-building, presentation, and sales skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take a self-directed approach to territory development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs for communication, presentations, database tracking and reporting, and spreadsheets.
• Experience using a CRM solution is preferred.
• Reliable transportation and auto liability insurance.
