Quality Assurance (QA) Manager – Job DescriptionThe QA Manager is responsible for leading the quality assurance function, ensuring that software products meet defined standards of quality, reliability, and performance. This role involves managing QA teams, defining testing strategies, and driving continuous improvement in testing processes.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and manage a team of QA analysts and engineersDefine and implement QA strategies, standards, and best practicesOversee test planning, execution, and delivery timelinesCollaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholdersEstablish and improve test automation frameworks and processesMonitor and report on quality metrics, KPIs, and defect trendsEnsure thorough functional, regression, integration, performance, and UAT testingManage risk assessment and mitigation strategiesDrive continuous improvement initiatives in QA processesEnsure adherence to SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologiesParticipate in release planning and go/no-go decisionsRequired Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field7–12+ years of experience in software testing/QA3–5+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial roleStrong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and processesExperience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail)Solid understanding of automation testing frameworksExperience working in Agile/Scrum environmentsStrong leadership, decision-making, and team management skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesPreferred SkillsHands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesExperience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured)ISTQB or similar certificationExposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)Key CompetenciesStrategic thinking and problem-solvingLeadership and team developmentQuality-focused mindsetRisk managementProcess improvement and innovationCross-functional collaborationTypical Tools & TechnologiesTest Management: TestRail, ZephyrBug Tracking: JiraAutomation: Selenium, CypressPerformance Testing: JMeter, LoadRunnerAPI Testing: PostmanCI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitHub ActionsVersion Control: GitKPIs / Success MetricsDefect leakage rateTest coverage and effectivenessRelease quality and stabilityAutomation coverageCycle time for testingCustomer-reported issues
