Pest Control Technician

Job Overview Rentokil is the global leader in pest control and other services across more than 90 countries. We protect people, enhance lives, and preserve the planet. This position is for a full‑time Pest Control Technician who will be responsible for performing industry‑leading pest management services for residential customers. The role includes a reliable hourly rate with an uncapped commission program. Expected total compensation is $55,000 – $100,000+ per year, depending on performance. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify signs of pest infestations, damage, and entry points. Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps, to effectively eliminate pests while adhering to safety standards. Educate customers on pest prevention methods and the importance of maintaining a pest‑free environment. Provide advice on how to reduce the risk of future infestations. Build relationships with customers, schedule and confirm appointments, assist with sales to current customers, and expand the product to new customers. Ensure that all pest control equipment is properly maintained, stocked, and in good working condition. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pest control products and safety protocols. Drive and safely operate a company‑provided service vehicle (routine maintenance is provided). Essential Job Functions Work in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways. Work around animals, insects, termites, mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals. Be able to work both inside and outside in local climate conditions wearing company‑provided weather gear. Move frequently—sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as an OSHA‑compliant respirator. What You Need Clean shaven face for safety reasons (rebreathers must seal the face). High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver’s license from the state of residence. Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by the company). Availability to work Monday‑Friday and weekends as needed. Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest control. Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills. Basic math skills for following instructions on product labels.
