Senior Data Engineer

There is an opportunity in Manhattan to join a fast-growing alternative investment firm with more than $35 billion in assets under management that is continuing to build out its data, technology, and investment platforms. You will work in a modern Microsoft and Azure environment, building data platforms, business applications, integrations, reporting solutions, and automation used across the firm. The technology includes Snowflake, Databricks, SQL, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, dbt, Power BI, Sigma, Tableau, SharePoint, Entra ID, and OAuth. You will connect data from portfolio management, accounting, operations, market data, and other business systems, including both third-party platforms and internally developed applications. One of the biggest selling points is the level of ownership. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects and applications from the initial conversation through design, development, delivery, adoption, and continued improvement. You will work directly with people across investments, operations, accounting, and other areas of the firm to understand what they are trying to accomplish, help shape the solution, build it, and get feedback from the users. The firm has grown quickly and continues to invest heavily in the technology supporting its investment businesses. Its platform spans private equity, credit, insurance solutions, and other alternative investment strategies. You do not need to know every technology in the environment. What matters most is that you enjoy building, integrating systems, working with data, and using technology to solve real business problems.
