Senior Accountant
$75-85,000 DOE
Wayne, NJ area
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will support the company’s financial operations. This role will work closely with the Controller and be responsible for managing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting day-to-day transactional activities. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Record and maintain journal entries in accordance with GAAP
- Perform account reconciliations and detailed account analysis
- Assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll processes, including processing payments and maintaining records
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and file sales tax returns
- Support ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 3–7+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with QuickBooks required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Additional Information:
- This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic thinking and transactional support
- Ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
