This Traveling Superintendent role oversees fast-paced, ground-up and tenant build-out construction projects for quick serve restaurant and retail locations across a regional territory. The superintendent manages all daily on-site construction activities, coordinates subcontractors, schedules utilities and inspections, and ensures projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The position requires strong field leadership, disciplined planning, and comfort operating in 60–90 day project cycles while using FieldLens and Procore on a Microsoft Surface Pro for daily reporting.

• Oversee all daily construction activities on-site for ground-up and tenant build-out projects, including site work and civil coordination.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to drive overall project progress, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Plan and manage the scheduling of subcontractors, utilities, inspections, and the delivery of equipment and materials to maintain project momentum.
• Collaborate with subcontractors to complete projects within the established budget and time frame, proactively resolving issues that impact schedule or cost.
• Produce and maintain disciplined short-term schedules, including detailed two-week look-ahead plans that coordinate trades, materials, and inspections.
• Assess the work of subcontractors and on-site crews, identify deficiencies, and direct corrective actions to meet project specifications and standards.
• Create thorough, accurate daily field log reports using FieldLens and Procore on a Microsoft Surface Pro, documenting progress, issues, and safety observations.
• Ensure and maintain a safe work environment that complies with OSHA standards, promoting safety practices and enforcing site safety requirements.
• Schedule and coordinate all required inspections with local authorities and stakeholders, ensuring timely approvals and adherence to codes and regulations.
• Provide active, hands-on site leadership, maintaining physical presence across the job site to monitor work, address questions, and support crews.
• Represent the general contractor professionally in client-facing interactions with owners, tenants, inspectors, and other external stakeholders.
• Rely on experience and judgment to plan, sequence, and accomplish project goals, adapting to changing conditions and multiple moving parts in fast-paced environments.
• Assist with finish work as needed, including carpentry-related tasks such as door hanging, caulking, décor installation, and trim installation.
• Transition efficiently between multiple short-duration projects annually, maintaining consistency in quality, documentation, and safety practices.
• Report to a Division Manager and provide regular updates on schedule, budget, risks, and site conditions.
• Travel regionally to project sites, typically for projects lasting around three months, with the ability to return home on weekends as project and location allow.
• Work onsite five days per week and be willing to work some Saturdays when crews are onsite to maintain or recover schedule.

• Proven ground-up construction experience, including site work and civil coordination, with a minimum of three completed ground-up projects.
• Background in quick serve restaurant, retail, or commercial construction, with familiarity in fast-paced project delivery.
• Regional home base in or near Indiana, with ability to travel regularly to projects across Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, or western Ohio.
• Willingness and ability to travel for projects, typically in ~3-month cycles, with flexibility to return home on weekends, every other weekend, or travel with a trailer or similar arrangement.
• Experience managing fast-paced projects in approximately 60–90 day or 3–4 month cycles, comfortable handling multiple moving parts and quick decision-making.
• Strong scheduling and planning discipline, including consistent production of two-week look-ahead schedules and coordination of subcontractors, materials, and inspections.
• Ability to pass a Background check, social media screen, and drug screen.
• Construction leadership experience, including either at least 2+ years as a Superintendent (preferred) or 3–4+ years as a Foreman or lead in a trade with exposure to the full project lifecycle and the ability to run site operations.
• Client-facing communication skills, with the ability to represent the general contractor professionally to owners, clients, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
• Solid technology competence, including the ability to perform field reporting on a tablet (Microsoft Surface Pro), use email, and operate basic construction-related software.
• Ability to maintain active physical mobility on site, including frequent walking and on-site oversight rather than working primarily from a trailer.
• Willingness to work some Saturdays when necessary to keep the project schedule on track.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors on commercial construction projects.

• Experience with quick serve restaurant construction, retail construction, and broader commercial construction environments.
• Carpentry Background, including finish carpentry tasks such as door installation, trim work, caulking, and décor installation.
• Experience transitioning between multiple short-duration projects within a year while maintaining consistent quality and documentation.
• Proficiency with FieldLens for daily reporting, with current or prior experience using Procore for project documentation and communication.
• OSHA 30 certification is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Procore construction management software.
• Comfort working in a regional traveler capacity, balancing travel demands with periodic time at home.

This role is primarily field-based, with the superintendent working onsite at active construction projects five days per week and occasionally on Saturdays when crews are present to maintain schedule. Projects are typically fast-paced, lasting around 60–90 days, and include ground-up and tenant build-out work for quick serve restaurant and retail spaces. The position involves regional travel across states such as Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and western Ohio, with the opportunity to return home on weekends as project and location allow. The superintendent uses a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet and construction management tools such as FieldLens and Procore for daily reporting and communication. A company-provided cellphone and Surface Pro support efficient field operations. Travel support includes mileage reimbursement from mobilization to demobilization, per diem, and lodging arranged via Airbnb or hotel, with options for reimbursement when using personal lodging such as an RV or camper. All holidays are paid, and downtime between jobs is compensated, providing stability between assignments. The work environment is active and hands-on, requiring regular movement around the job site, direct interaction with subcontractors and inspectors, and adherence to OSHA safety standards in a commercial construction setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Noblesville, IN.

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
