Make a difference in the lives of upper elementary students by providing dedicated support as a contract Special Education Teacher. This opportunity involves guiding 4th and 5th grade students in a likely self-contained classroom setting for the full school year. The schedule consists of half-day assignments, Monday through Friday (am or pm timing to be determined), offering valuable flexibility while you focus on delivering individualized instruction and fostering growth.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Illinois PEL or equivalent required)
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and abilities
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborative mindset when working with support staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to nurturing a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment for 4th and 5th graders

What You'll Do:

• Provide engaging, standards-based instruction in a self-contained classroom setting
• Adapt curriculum materials and modify teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting supports as needed
• Collaborate with colleagues and families to ensure consistent student support
• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and supportive classroom culture
• Contribute to IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and accommodations

This is a contract position located near Arlington Heights, IL, and spans the full academic year, allowing for meaningful connections with students and consistent professional engagement.
