Senior Duck Creek Developer (Policy/Billing)

Job Description

AptaCloud is growing its Duck Creek practice and is hiring a Senior Duck Creek Developer to design, build and support Policy and Billing solutions for P&C insurance carriers. You'll work closely with business analysts, architects, client SMEs and project leads, own technical solutions from requirements to production, and help mentor other developers on the platform.

What you'll do

\n
• Translate business requirements into Duck Creek technical designs and ManuScript inheritance structures.
\n
• Build and configure Duck Creek Policy and Billing: products, rating, rules, forms, workflows, pages and tables in Author and Express.
\n
• Develop C#/.NET custom business objects, and build and consume SOAP/REST services and Duck Creek APIs for integrations.
\n
• Configure Billing processes such as invoicing, payments, adjustments, collections, scheduled activities and the async queue.
\n
• Write and tune SQL Server queries, stored procedures and XQueries for development and troubleshooting.
\n
• Debug with TraceMonitor, ExampleUtil, Data Tester and processing exceptions, and own production issues through to resolution.
\n
• Do code reviews, enforce quality standards, and mentor developers on Duck Creek best practices.
\n
• Work directly with clients to clarify needs, manage expectations and flag risks early.
\n
• Support upgrades, multi-version environments, testing and deployments in an Agile/Scrum team.

Required

\n
• At least 7 years of software development experience, with at least 5 years hands-on with Duck Creek.
\n
• Deep experience with Duck Creek Policy and/or Billing, including Author, Express, Server, User Admin and Billing Integration.
\n
• Strong ManuScript skills: inheritance, fields, pages, forms and tables.
\n
• C#/.NET, XML/XSLT, SOAP/REST APIs and SQL Server.
\n
• Solid knowledge of P&C insurance, including the policy lifecycle, underwriting and billing.
\n
• Experience in Agile/SDLC environments with Git and CI/CD tooling.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication and client-facing skills.
\n
• Must live in the US and be authorized to work there without sponsorship.
\n

• Duck Creek Anywhere, Skins, Insights or OnDemand (SaaS) experience.
\n
• Experience leading a small team or acting as technical lead.
\n
• Duck Creek upgrade or migration experience.
\n
• Cloud experience (Azure or AWS) and exposure to Gen AI tools.
\n
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
\n
