Hybrid Legal Billing Coordinator: Invoicing & Collections

Legal Billing Specialist Location: Kansas City, MO Hybrid schedule (2 days on-site per week) Pay: $65,000 – $75,000 annually Key Responsibilities Create and review client invoices in customized formats based on specific requirements from clients and Billing Attorneys. Perform override calculations and make necessary changes to invoices in accordance with client and attorney instructions. Assist in identifying and reconciling payments received, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Monitor aging and collections. Proactively monitor unbilled fees, costs, and accounts receivable for assigned Billing Attorneys and collaborate to resolve aged items. Partner with Billing Attorneys to address outstanding billing issues and support collection efforts. Assist in the preparation of client budgets and provide reporting and analysis as needed. Use billing software (e.g., 3E) to maintain records, generate reports, and support billing operations. Generate and modify reports from the billing system; prepare statistical data and financial summaries as requested. Liaise with clients regarding billing deadlines, rate inquiries, and concerns related to billing statements. Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual billing and rate data; ensure accuracy in billing and payment records, including write-offs. Master client billing guidelines and ensure all work aligns with firm policies and procedures. Support ad hoc requests and special projects from Billing Attorneys and supervisors, including financial analysis and report creation.
