HR Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Assistant for a law firm. This role serves as a key administrative point of contact for Human Resources functions, supporting onboarding, employee file compliance, payroll support, and general HR operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys organized processes, employee support, confidentiality, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring a positive customer service mindset, strong follow-through, and the ability to manage changing priorities with professionalism. Key Responsibilities Maintain and update employee records, employee files, and compliance documentation, including status changes, new hires, terminations, tax updates, deductions, and address changes. Manage onboarding for new hires. Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation, including paperwork, compliance training, onboarding schedules, and orientation materials. Support bi-monthly timesheet and payroll processes, including compiling payroll reports as needed. Serve as the main contact with outside recruiters. Scheduling interviews with department managers. Required Qualifications and Skills 2 to 3 years of HR or administrative experience. Experience maintaining confidential employee records and handling HR documentation with accuracy and discretion. Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and follow-up skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Ability to manage shifting priorities with flexibility, professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude. Customer service-oriented approach with a strong commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and high standards.
