Production Assembler Operator

Overview:

A Production Assembler at Foxconn in Durham, NC, is responsible for assembling components and products according to specified guidelines to ensure they meet quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Accurately apply labels in strict accordance with specification documents and quality standards.
• Handle high-value and sensitive components with extreme care to prevent damage or defects.
• Follow instructions and directions from supervisors, engineers, and management in a fast-paced environment.
• Read, understand, and execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) consistently and correctly.
• Safely work with electrostatic discharge (ESD)-sensitive materials using proper handling protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including testing, engineering, and management to ensure alignment and workflow efficiency.
• Proactively identify issues and seek guidance when encountering blockers or uncertainties.
• Maintain flexibility to work overtime as required, including mandatory extended shifts when needed.
• Train and mentor new personnel once fully qualified to ensure consistency in processes and quality standards.
• Support operations across multiple departments and production lines based on business needs and production demands.
• Perform strict visual inspections in accordance with QA requirements to ensure product quality and compliance.
• Preparing for assembly: Reviewing assembly instructions, blueprint specification and parts list; gathering necessary parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Positioning parts and subassemblies: Using templates or precise measurement to correctly place components
• Assembling components: Ensuring correct fit by examining connections and fastening parts and subassemblies securely.
• Verifying specifications: Measuring completed components to confirm they meet required specifications.
• Resolving assembly issues: Adjusting dimensions to meet specifications and notifying supervisors when additional resources are needed.
• Ensuring a safe and clean work environment: Complying with procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
• High school or GED required
• Assembly line experience preferred
