Step into a pivotal role supporting student physical development and wellbeing through expert physical therapy services in an engaging school setting near Federal Way, WA. Enjoy the variety of working full-time during Semester 1 (through Winter Break), transitioning into a part-time (.4 FTE) schedule from Semester 2 when the staff PT resumes. This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about making a difference in young lives while maintaining work-life balance throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist with active PT credentials
- ESA (Educational Staff Associate) certificate required prior to start
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators, administrators, and families
- Ability to manage caseloads efficiently and adjust therapy plans as students progress
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ physical therapy needs and develop individualized intervention plans
- Deliver direct and consultative physical therapy services in accordance with IEP goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely progress reports per school and state guidelines
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote student access to the educational environment
- Provide training and resources to staff and caregivers about safe handling and mobility
