Primary location will be MOORESVILLE, but will need to be able to travel to Indianapolis location as neededEnjoy work life balance with consistent day shift schedule and observed holidays off work. Periodic evening and Saturday shifts may be scheduled to support operational needsPrepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas, including cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking supplies to ensure patient readinessSupport efficient patient flow by rooming patients, obtaining medical histories, vital signs, medication reconciliation, EKGs, and point-of-care testing as directedAccurately document patient care, communications, and clinical activities in EPIC EMR and other required systemsAssist providers with procedures, patient communication, referrals, prior authorizations, appointment scheduling, and coordination of testing and follow-up careBuild and maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff while delivering high-quality care within the Medical Assistant scope of practiceQualificationsRequired High School Diploma/GEDRequired Program Medical AssistingIn lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience-RequiredBasic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hireFor an MA, you must have one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)Travel is required: Up to 20%Equal Opportunity EmployerIt is the policy of Franciscan Alliance to provide equal employment to its employees and qualified applicants for employment as otherwise required by an applicable local, state or Federal law.
