Lead Project Accountant

We are looking for a Lead Project Accountant to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below. Our client is seeking a Lead Project Accountant to support project‑based accounting activities related to construction, development, or long‑term projects. This role is a key liaison between accounting and project teams, ensuring financial accuracy, cost tracking, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. This position is on‑site in Westerville, Ohio. What You’ll Be Doing Manage accounting activities for multiple active projects from inception through close‑out Track project costs, budgets, commitments, and change orders Prepare and review job cost reports and work‑in‑progress (WIP) schedules Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards Partner closely with project managers to support forecasting and cost control Prepare project‑related journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules Support month‑end close, including accruals and project adjustments Assist with internal and external audits related to project accounting Identify and recommend improvements to project accounting processes and controls What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on project‑based accounting Experience in construction, real estate development, engineering, or similar industries Strong understanding of job cost accounting and WIP reporting Experience collaborating directly with project or operations teams CPA or construction accounting experience is a plus Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent communication and organizational skills What Our Client Offers Stable, project‑driven environment with a strong operational focus Hands‑on role with high visibility across projects and leadership Opportunity to influence project accounting processes and best practices Competitive compensation aligned with experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Ringside Talent Acquisition Partners
