Senior Liability Claims Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Liability Claims Specialist based in United States.

This remote role manages mid-to-complex Auto and General Liability claims, including bodily injury and property damage. The position handles both litigated and non-litigated files while working within delegated authority and established claims practices. The specialist investigates claims, evaluates coverage and compensability, and determines appropriate reserves and payments. The role involves regular communication with customers, claimants, and clients to keep stakeholders informed throughout the claims process. It also requires collaboration with colleagues on complex or challenging files and participation in claims reviews when needed. This is an opportunity for an experienced claims professional to apply sound judgment, analytical skills, and strong communication in a structured, client-focused environment

Accountabilities:

• Receive and acknowledge claims, confirm policy coverage, and gather the information required to establish and evaluate each file.
• Determine claim validity and compensability while applying applicable policies, guidelines, and claims-handling practices.
• Investigate and manage mid-to-complex Auto and/or General Liability claims, including bodily injury, property damage, and litigated matters.
• Establish appropriate reserves and authorize payments within delegated reserving authority limits.
• Communicate claim status, decisions, and relevant updates clearly with customers, claimants, and clients.
• Follow client and carrier requirements and participate in claims reviews as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders on complex, problematic, or high-priority claims.
• Perform additional claims-related responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience handling Auto, General Liability, and litigated claims, including at least 2 years specifically managing Auto Liability claims.
• An active Home State or Designated Home State adjuster license is required, along with a current adjuster’s license in the state of operation.
• A multi-state adjuster license is preferred, while experience working with municipalities is considered a plus.
• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, claimants, clients, and colleagues.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply claims practices, policies, procedures, and client requirements.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office, including the ability to work effectively with Excel spreadsheets.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
• Strong performance orientation with the ability to consistently meet or exceed established expectations.
