REGISTERED DIETITIAN, CORRECTIONAL FACILITY - HIGH DESERT STATE PRISON

Position Overview Registered Dietitian, Correctional Facility (CF) located at High Desert State Prison (HDSP) , Susanville, CA (Lassen County). Position Type: 12‑month limited term, may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent. Key Responsibilities Provide medical nutrition therapy to incarcerated patients. Plan and organize dietary activity; write and review menus. Authorize substitution or modification of special diets. Serve as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) and provide patient counseling. Maintain order, supervise conduct, and ensure safety of persons and property. Minimum Qualifications Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Must be registered; applicants with proof of eligibility to apply for registration will be admitted to examination but must become registered to be eligible for appointment. Successful completion of the exam bulletin for Registered Dietitian, Correctional Facility. Other Information Under direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Dietetics, CF. Salary adjustments: base salary reduced 3% under PLP 2025; 5 leave credits monthly through June 2027.
