The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications for the position of Development Officer, Annual Giving, Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement

ROLE of the POSITION

As the University of Nevada, Las Vegas prepares to enter its next comprehensive campaign, the Development Officer, Annual Giving is a key member of the Annual Giving team and will focus on providing a first-class philanthropic experience for all donors by leveraging personalized digital engagement to effectively build relationships based on what truly matters to each supporter.

The Development Officer reports to the Director of Annual Giving and will manage a portfolio of approximately 1,000 donors and prospects with clear weekly, monthly, and annual goals. This role is responsible for executing high-volume, personalized outreach campaigns using digital tools, including CRM platforms, social media, video, phone, and email communications.

Responsibilities include identifying, cultivating, and soliciting gifts in support of the Annual Giving program while meeting defined fundraising goals. The Development Officer will collaborate across the university, including with Marketing and Communications, Alumni Relations, and Development, to connect donors with meaningful engagement and philanthropic opportunities.

The position plays a critical role in achieving near-term annual giving goals while also developing a pipeline of future major gift prospects. The successful candidate will be comfortable with both in-person and virtual solicitations and will engage donors at a high velocity using a donor-centric approach.

The Development Officer will also provide stewardship to donors by expressing appreciation, communicating impact, and encouraging continued and increased support. This position represents UNLV at campus and community events and may require occasional travel and evening or weekend work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a related field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in higher education advancement or fundraising
• Experience with donor databases, CRM systems, or digital engagement tools
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Experience with outreach, sales, or customer engagement environments
