Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital surgical services position with general OR and specialty surgical experience.

Details

Hospital surgical services department performing a wide range of procedures including general, vascular, ENT, gynecology, neuro, ortho, robotic, thoracic, and urology surgeries

Day shift, 5x8-hour schedule, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM

May occasionally float to HOPD (ASC) on the same campus

Call required approximately 4-5 days per month, including weekends

13-week assignment length

Requirements

BLS certification required

CST certification required (NBSTSA); license required if applicable

Minimum of 1 year of recent relevant surgical technology experience

HS Diploma or GED required

Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or military-trained scrub tech

General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, and equipment

Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

Assist surgeons in a variety of surgical procedures to ensure quality patient care

Establish and maintain sterile fields, including sterile tables, tools, and patient draping

Select, prepare, and inspect necessary supplies and equipment for each procedure

Maintain a clean and safe operating room environment before and after procedures

May perform clerical duties such as updating electronic health records and managing supply inventory

Maintain confidentiality of patient health information in compliance with regulatory standards

Follow safety protocols including fire safety, laser safety, radiation safety, and sharps safety

Practice aseptic technique and proper specimen handling and labeling

Participate in Universal Protocol (time-out) procedures

Accepts local candidates at a local rate

50-mile radius rule applies

Former employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
