Pay: $21.67/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Overview

A-Line Staffing is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician - Prior Authorization to support one of our leading healthcare services clients. This remote role serves as a key point of contact for the Clinical Hub, working closely with pharmacists, healthcare facilities, physicians, and prescription drug plans to coordinate therapeutic interchanges and prior authorization requests. The ideal candidate has prior authorization experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage documentation with a high level of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for the Clinical Hub regarding therapeutic interchange and prior authorization requests.
• Communicate with pharmacists, healthcare facilities, physicians, and prescription drug plans to obtain and provide required information.
• Investigate payment denials by contacting insurance plans to determine the reasons for denials.
• Contact healthcare facilities to obtain and communicate information related to prior authorization denials.
• Complete and submit prior authorization forms with accurate clinical justifications and supporting documentation.
• Update and maintain prior authorization records throughout the authorization process.
• Document all communications, authorizations, and case updates within company systems.
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems to review and update patient and authorization information.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external healthcare partners to facilitate timely completion of prior authorization requests.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail while managing multiple requests and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Active California Pharmacy Technician license required.
• National Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
• Prior experience processing pharmacy prior authorizations.
• Experience working with insurance plans, healthcare providers, physicians, or medical facilities.
• Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, insurance authorization processes, and medication coverage.
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
