Business Development Associate - Multifamily Real Estate

A growing multifamily real estate organization in Phoenix is seeking a Business Development Associate to help identify, evaluate, and pursue new management opportunities. This is not a traditional sales role. We are looking for someone who understands multifamily real estate, can analyze a property and its market, and can confidently communicate with owners, investors, brokers, and other industry professionals. The ideal candidate may come from multifamily acquisitions, asset management, brokerage, investment sales, underwriting, or property operations and wants a role that combines analysis, relationship development, and growth. What You'll Do Review T-12s, rent rolls, budgets, operating statements, and property performance Analyze rent rates, concessions, occupancy, market trends, and competitive properties Prepare market surveys and property comparison analyses Assist with underwriting and evaluation of prospective management opportunities Identify operational and financial opportunities within multifamily assets Support proposals, presentations, RFPs, and prospective client meetings Conduct property tours, market visits, and competitive shops Build and maintain relationships with owners, investors, brokers, lenders, and industry partners Track prospective opportunities and manage business development follow-up Work directly with senior leadership on portfolio growth initiatives What We're Looking For Multifamily real estate experience or strong multifamily industry knowledge Ability to understand property-level financials, T-12s, rent rolls, and budgets Knowledge of underwriting, market rents, concessions, occupancy, and comparable properties Strong analytical and Excel skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities Professional presence and confidence working with owners and senior-level decision-makers Highly organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple opportunities at once Experience in multifamily acquisitions, asset management, brokerage, underwriting, investment sales, or property operations is strongly preferred. The Right Fit You should be equally comfortable analyzing a property in Excel and sitting across the table from an owner or investor. We are looking for someone who can understand the numbers, recognize opportunities, ask intelligent questions, and build strong professional relationships. Compensation Annual base salary of $90,000, with total compensation potential of $125,000+ through additional bonus compensation tied to new business.
