Job Description & Requirements Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Dallas, Texas. This role involves providing compassionate, specialized care to pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions, including postoperative management of congenital heart disease, arterial and central line care, and post-procedure recovery. The position requires adaptability and a focus on family-centered care in a dynamic ICU environment. Job Details Shift: Night shifts (12 hours) with rotating weekends (Saturday and Sunday days, Friday and Saturday nights); no on-call duties. Certifications and Qualifications: Valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications. Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with a focus on cardio-related patient care; proficiency in managing arterial lines, central lines, and postoperative cardiac patients; experience with care of neonatal cardiac patients preferred. Patient Care: Caring for pediatric patients requiring complex procedures such as central line and arterial line placement, intubation/extubation, post-op recovery for cardiac surgeries, sternal closures, ECMO cannulation/decannulation, and CRRT. Unit Environment: The unit has 27 beds with a staffing team of approximately 90 members, including ICU and step-down level patients. Equipment utilized includes IV pumps, Hillrom beds, GE radiant warmers, NIRS machines, and Servo U ventilators. Documentation is maintained via Meditech electronic medical records.
