Staff AccountantSt. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati (SVDP) has served residents of greater Cincinnati for over 150 years with basic needs such as food, medicine, and homelessness prevention through its outreach center in the West End and through fifty-one parish-based volunteer Conferences (chapters). SVDP provides holistic direct assistance and systemic change services while treating neighbors in need with dignity, and compassion.Position Overview: This is a part-time position and will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions for multiple entities of St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati. Reports to: Controller Hours: 40 hours/week Location: SVDP's Liz Carter Center, 1125 William L. Mallory, Sr. Street, Cincinnati, OH 45214Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform monthly closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, financial statements, and management reportsPerform bank account and balance sheet account reconciliations on a timely basisReconcile bank and credit card fees for multiple accountsMaintain vendors as part of accounts payable functionPrepare financial, budget, and payroll information for grant applications and related reportingResponsible for fixed asset accounting and trackingAssist with implementation of new accounting softwareAssist with preparation of required schedules and documentation for annual auditAssist with annual reporting to SVDP national organizationPerform various analysis and ad hoc projects as requiredQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience3-5 years accounting experience, not-for profit experience a plusProficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and general accounting systemsExperience with general ledger accounting, including financial statement preparationStrong analytical, organizational, problem-solving skills; detail orientedExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated, capable of taking initiative, and effectively manage deadlinesPlease note- along with your resume, please also include a cover letter that states why you are interested in this position and why you would be a good fit for it.
