Director of Sales and Marketing – InterContinental Seattle Bellevue Hotel We are looking for a highly motivated sales and marketing leader who will report to the General Manager and collaborate with the sales and catering team to plan, budget, coordinate, and execute sales activities for the InterContinental Seattle Bellevue Hotel. Key Responsibilities Lead and drive the Sales department, including Hotel Group Sales and the Catering Sales team. Drive the strategic focus on creation and distribution of exceptional marketing campaigns. Drive the online advertising strategy with strategic partners to achieve growth in website traffic, bookings and conversion. Direct digital channel strategy through data analysis to deliver ROI. Create and execute on‑property promotions and programming in collaboration with applicable departments. Develop and implement the overall sales and marketing plan for the hotel. Stay abreast of industry trends and position the hotel to capitalize on market opportunities. Execute sales activities to achieve budgeted revenue goals. Develop and implement all sales strategies for Consortia, Wholesale, Leisure and Business Travel markets. Research, analyze and monitor financial, technological and demographic factors to establish a market leadership position. Own a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts: calling on accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and receptions, and conducting regular in‑person meetings. Plan and participate in sales trips and industry‑related meetings for assigned markets. Assist in the annual budgeting plan and formulate and revise annual and monthly forecasts. Negotiate with clients and maximize revenue/profit potential while meeting client needs. Enhance the hotel’s community image through active participation in associations, events, clubs and boards. Take ownership of assigned sales territory, respond to specific market needs and recommend actions to sales leadership. Create, train, supervise and monitor the preparation of catering menus, memos and BEO files. Organize and conduct BEO meetings to coordinate successful functions and ensure accuracy. Provide site tours of the property and meeting space as needed. Track, analyze and share key quantitative metrics and business trends related to client relationships. Negotiate, prepare and write contracts in Delphi or provide instruction to the appropriate colleague. Connect strategy and business to generate revenue across Rooms, Retail, Food and Beverage and Catering events. Create and present monthly goals and strategies to Ownership and Asset groups. Respond promptly to inquiries from potential guests via telephone, email or other channels. Performs other duties as requested, including attending V.I.P. parties, social events, staff meetings and other hotel operations meetings. Qualifications and Skills Thorough knowledge of the Seattle and Bellevue area hotel market. Passion for delivering excellent customer service. Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of successful client interactions and relationships. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry goods weighing up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis. Ability to read, write and speak effectively to comprehend and communicate job functions. Ability to deal with internal and external customers requiring high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy. Ability to present sensitive material. College education preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience leading Sales, Marketing and Catering in a luxury 4‑star full‑service hotel environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Positive and approachable demeanor at all times, as the role sits on the Executive Committee and senior leadership team. Maintains a neat, professional, clean and well‑groomed appearance. Knowledge of Delphi, Opera, Knowland, Cvent and Meeting broker is a plus. Additional language ability preferred but not required. Willingness to work the hotel’s 24/7 schedule, with possible shift changes. Compensation $170,000 – $195,000, variable incentive based on performance, and full benefits package.
