About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45 - 07:15 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2+ years License: Valid RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - 2 years nursing experience - Experience working with tracheostomy patients Description: The unit has a total of 23 step-down beds and 16 medical-surgical beds. The day shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, and 4 PCTs. The night shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, and 4 PCTs. Patient ratios are 1:3-4 for step-down and 1:4-6 for medical-surgical. Equipment on the unit includes lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, stable vented patients, and tracheostomies. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Preferred candidates will have experience with Cerner. Typical procedures performed on the unit include trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes. Candidates should possess flexibility and a high level of clinical competence. Weekend shifts may require 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts in a 6-week period. This position is a contractor replacement.
