Step into a dynamic school environment as a Bilingual Instructional Assistant, where your skills and compassion make a difference every day. This full-time contract opportunity focuses on providing dedicated classroom assistance and individualized support for students from kindergarten to 4th grade. Your day runs from 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM, working closely with educators and students in a welcoming and inclusive setting.
Ideal candidates will bring a strong foundation in special education or behavioral support, with at least two years of relevant experience. You’ll play a vital role in supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and personal care needs—including toileting, meal assistance, and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs). Fluency in Spanish is highly valued, supporting the growing needs of bilingual learners.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (required)
- Two or more years’ experience in special education and/or behavioral roles (preferred)
- Fluency in Spanish (preferred, but not required)
- Experience providing direct support to elementary-aged children
- Comfort assisting with personal care tasks, such as toileting and meals
- Familiarity with implementing IEPs
Responsibilities:
- Offer both classroom assistance and focused 1:1 support
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Provide guidance to students with special needs
- Collaborate with teachers and staff on student support plans
- Assist with daily routines, including personal care and meal support
