About the Job A Temporary On‑Site Operations Coordinator is needed to help run the Driven to Discover Research Facility at the Minnesota State Fair from August 27 to September 7, 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for students and others looking for experience in a cross‑disciplinary, human‑subjects research environment. Must be available to work most days of the Fair, including evenings and weekends. Position includes free admission to the Minnesota State Fair. The Driven to Discover ("D2D") Research Facility at the State Fair brings researchers and the Minnesota community together. D2D provides turn‑key space for studies looking to recruit and collect data for their minimal‑risk human subjects' projects. This unique, one‑of‑a‑kind opportunity serves as a way to build a culture of research across Minnesota and showcase the innovative work being done across the system. Duties Set up and take down booths, manage equipment (e.g., iPads). Troubleshoot issues (e.g., rain, electrical outages, broken equipment). Handle emergencies (e.g., falls, missing children). Clean the facility as needed (including mopping the floor at the end of the night). Learn State Fair and D2D procedures and answer questions from researchers and Fair attendees. Promote Fair participation to visitors, and perform various other duties as assigned by the D2D Manager. Qualifications Required Qualifications: High School graduate with some post‑secondary education. Must be able to lift 35 pounds. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to people with experience working in a research or clinical environment. Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, pending education, qualifications, and experience.
