About the Role:

The Cash Collector in the Health Care industry plays a critical role in managing and recovering outstanding payments to ensure the financial stability of the organization. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in collections, or a related financial role, preferably in healthcare.
• Familiarity with medical billing, insurance claims, and healthcare payment processes.
• Proficiency in using billing software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
• Experience in customer service or patient financial counseling.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze patient accounts and outstanding balances to identify delinquent payments.
• Contact patients, insurance providers, and third-party payers to collect overdue payments and resolve billing issues.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of collection activities, payment agreements, and communications in the billing system.
• Collaborate with billing, finance, and patient services teams to address discrepancies and improve collection processes.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, privacy regulations, and ethical standards during all collection activities.
• Prepare regular reports on collection status, trends, and challenges for management review.
