Job Title

Cardiac First Assistant Tech (CST/ORT – First Assist)

Salt Lake City, UT | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 3 x 12-hour or 4 x 10-hour shifts per week | On-call requirements expected (approximately 4–5 call shifts per month) | Weekend requirements to be determined

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as First Assistant in a high-volume OR environment supporting a broad range of surgical specialties
• Assist with procedures including General Surgery, Urology, GYN, Spine, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Robotics, Vascular, and others
• Float within the Main OR as needed to support staffing and case coverage
• Fulfill on-call obligations as scheduled, with an expected frequency of approximately 4–5 call shifts per month
• Maintain active CSFA or CFA certification throughout the duration of the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of First Assist experience
• Active CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant) or CFA (Certified First Assistant) certification required
• Ability to fulfill on-call and weekend scheduling requirements
• Travel assignment eligibility required; position is designated as a travel role

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience across multiple surgical specialties including robotics and vascular procedures
• Familiarity working in a large, multi-OR facility (15+ operating rooms)
• Ability to adapt quickly within a high-volume, fast-paced surgical environment
