C.W. Williams Community Health Center, Inc. (CWWCHC) is seeking a Bilingual Outreach Specialist to connect individuals and families throughout Mecklenburg County with healthcare services, resources, health education, and opportunities for care.

The Bilingual Outreach Specialist serves as an ambassador for CWWCHC by building relationships with churches, schools, businesses, organizations, service providers, and other partners. The position participates in health fairs, screenings, workshops, public events, and outreach activities while helping prospective patients access healthcare and insurance coverage.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, people-oriented, organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a variety of settings. This is a hands-on position requiring frequent interaction with patients and neighbors and the ability to represent the Health Center professionally.

This position requires significant schedule flexibility. Outreach activities often take place outside of traditional business hours. The successful candidate must be available to participate in some evening and weekend activities, meetings, health fairs, workshops, events, and occasional Saturday outreach activities. Candidates should be comfortable adjusting their schedule based on outreach needs and scheduled events.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and expand relationships with organizations and contacts throughout Mecklenburg County, including churches, schools, businesses, social service agencies, healthcare providers, and other partners.
• Represent CWWCHC at events, health fairs, workshops, screenings, meetings, and tabling activities.
• Communicate in both English and Spanish to increase awareness and understanding of available healthcare services and resources.
• Educate individuals and families about CWWCHC services, programs, and resources.
• Participate in special programs and initiatives, including healthfocused programs.
• Attend local and citywide meetings as assigned.
• Participate in evening and weekend outreach activities, including occasional Saturday events.
Patient Outreach & Access
• Assist prospective and existing patients with accessing healthcare services and resources.
• Assist individuals with completing Medicaid and other health insurance applications as needed.
• Preregister and schedule appointments for new patients identified through outreach activities.
• Provide newly enrolled or referred patient information to clinical and other appropriate staff to support care coordination.
• Maintain patient outreach information in accordance with CWWCHC policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.
• Help identify barriers to healthcare access and connect individuals with appropriate resources.
Outreach Materials & Communications
• Assist with developing, preparing, designing, printing, and distributing outreach materials.
• Help create flyers, brochures, newsletters, health education materials, and other outreach communications.
• Assist with distributing materials throughout the coverage area.
• Help ensure outreach information is clear, accurate, appropriate for the intended audience, and accessible to the populations being served.
Documentation & Data Management
• Enter outreach and patient contact information accurately into applicable systems.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and patient contacts.
• Prepare and submit monthly outreach activity logs and other required reports.
• Document outreach dates, locations, materials distributed, contacts made, and related activities.
• Prepare grantrelated reports and other documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain organized records in accordance with agency standards and protocols.
Required Qualifications
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in outreach, public service, healthcare outreach, social services, or a related field.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with computer operating systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationshipbuilding skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and partners.
• Ability to represent CWWCHC professionally at events and public functions.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability and willingness to travel to various community locations and CWWCHC sites.
• Strong schedule flexibility and availability to work some evenings, weekends, and occasional Saturdays are required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Some college coursework or an associate degree.
• Experience working in a health center, healthcare organization, nonprofit, public health, or social services organization.
• Experience with patient registration, health insurance applications, Medicaid enrollment, or healthcare referrals.
• Experience conducting health fairs, public events, presentations, workshops, or educational outreach.
• Experience working with Spanishspeaking patients in a healthcare or socialservice environment.

Physical & Work Requirements

This is an active position. The Bilingual Outreach Specialist must be able to:

• Walk and stand for extended periods during events and outreach activities.
• Travel to various locations and CWWCHC sites.
• Communicate and interact with patients, partners, the general public, and staff throughout the workday.
• Work in a variety of environments.
• Work some evenings, weekends, and occasional Saturdays based on outreach needs.
• Adjust work schedules as necessary to support events and organizational priorities.
