Program Manager - Facilities

Responsibilities for this Position

The Manager of Shipyard Facilities Planning will lead strategic planning and operational oversight for the shipyards physical footprint and real estate portfolio. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining the Shipyard Master Plan, optimizing space utilization, managing real estate activities, coordinating office moves and renovations, overseeing spaceplanning tools, and ensuring facilities align with evolving business requirements. The manager will collaborate closely with Operations, Facilities, Engineering, Finance, and other organizations to support longterm growth and daytoday operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipyard Master Plan Management

• Develop, maintain, and update the shipyards comprehensive master plan.
• Assess future operational and strategic needs to guide longterm facility and infrastructure planning.
• Work with leadership to ensure alignment with business growth and objectives

Space Planning

• Lead spaceutilization and planning initiatives across shipyard facilities.
• Conduct assessments to improve workflow, efficiency, and utilization.
• Manage and maintain spaceplanning tools for tracking office space usage, allocation, and inventory.

Office Moves & Space Renovations

• Plan and manage office relocations, reconfigurations, and expansions.
• Direct renovation projects from concept through final completion.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Enablement of Business Requirements

• Ensure shipyard facilities assets support operational, staffing, and strategic needs.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective physical space solutions.
• Anticipate needs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and support growth.

• Serve as a proven leader capable of developing, mentoring, and guiding teams of professionals.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading and developing professional teams
• Experience in facilities planning, real estate management, or capital project management
• Strong strategic planning, organizational, and analytical abilities
• Proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills
• Familiarity with industrial or shipyard environments preferred

• Experience in strategic planning
• Experience with gathering, tracking and validating end user requirements
• Experience with project management

Required:

• Bachelors degree OR a High School diploma & 8+ years of Military experience OR equivalent leadership experience
• 5+ years of experience managing teams with direct reports
• 8+ years of project or program manager experience

Preferred:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management
• Shipyard experience
• Experience with engineering requirements for manufacturing and office buildings and systems
