ELO is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Audit Associate to join our growing team. This role is critical in delivering high-quality audit and assurance services to our clients. You will collaborate with team members to plan and execute audit engagements, ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm policies. - Assist in planning and performing audit procedures in accordance with applicable auditing standards.
- Perform audit testing, including walkthroughs, internal control evaluations, and substantive procedures.
- Prepare and maintain detailed audit workpapers that meet firm and professional standards.
- Analyze financial data to identify risks, discrepancies, or areas for improvement.
- Assist in drafting audit reports, management letters, and financial statements.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve audit-related issues.
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to a high-performing audit environment.
- Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, business, or a related field. A master's degree in public accounting is a plus.
- CPA certification or progress toward obtaining a CPA is highly desirable.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in public accounting or a related field, with a focus on audit services.
- Highly proficient in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Familiarity with accounting software is required, and experience with Engagement Manager (formally known as AdvancedFlow) is preferred.
- Technical knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and audit methodologies. Knowledge in governmental audits is a plus.
- Adaptability and a commitment to flexibility in a constantly changing professional environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide precise and impactful feedback to clients and team members.
