Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant provides support in completing timely and accurate financial reporting, preparing and managing month-end close processes, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and supporting external audits. The role also assists with process improvement and creating efficiencies, treasury operations, budgeting and forecasting, data modeling, and reporting. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prepare and manage the month-end procedures for selected Manufacturers including preparing inventory rollforwards, purchase orders, and invoices.
2. Prepare journal entries, amortization schedules, and supporting analyses to support monthly closing procedures.
3. Perform balance sheet reconciliations (i.e., bank statements, unposted deposits, security, etc.) on a monthly basis and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
4. Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with US GAAP.
5. Gather documentation and support for external auditors.
6. Maintain regular communication with Manufacturers (when applicable) and assist with resolving inquiries.
7. Communicate actively with both staff and leaders of other departments as necessary to ensure proper compliance with both internal and external policies.
8. Assist with process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, standardize recurring activities, and create efficiencies.
9. Assist with treasury operations, including cash position reporting and forecasting, debt facility management, and bank compliance reporting.
10. Support private equity ownership with reliable reporting for key initiatives.
11. Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process including ownership of specific budget areas.
12. Partner with finance and business stakeholders to create useful analyses to inform business decisions.
13. Other accounting and finance responsibilities, as assigned.
14. Regular and reliable attendance expected.
15. Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Minimum Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Required

1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.
2. CPA preferred, not required.
3. Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience, primarily Excel, Word, CoPilot, PowerPoint, and Outlook; advanced Excel and financial data modeling skills preferred.
4. Strong accounting, analytical, research, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting skills.
5. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify process improvements and create efficiencies.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate financial information clearly to business stakeholders.
7. Familiarity with U.S. GAAP.
