Job Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized assessments and observational practices.
- Create tailor-made treatment plans that cater to both immediate milestones and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Implement one-on-one interventions targeting various aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Work collaboratively with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to foster comprehensive treatment strategies.
- Provide education and resources to patients and families, supporting progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Facilitate occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments to ensure a seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain meticulous documentation that aligns with regulated standards and organizational policies.
- Engage in ongoing education and peer collaboration to stay informed about advancements in the field.
Educational Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications Needed
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
