Part-Time faculty are an integral part of the College's staff, helping us provide all learners with the highest quality learning opportunities when, where and how they want it.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSResponsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instruction and assessment of learning outcomes.Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies which foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.Maintain accurate student records and communication.Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals. This includes being accessible to students outside of scheduled classroom time.Provide educational leadership and work effectively with faculty, administration, and campus support staff.Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required by other agencies to maintain individual and program accreditation.Comply with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery.Additional duties and responsibilities will be discussed as needs arise.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSMinimum QualificationsAssociate degree in related fieldFive years of experience required.At a minimum, occupational experience has to have occurred at least 1 year within the last 5 years.Hold Department of Justice Law Enforcement Instructor Certification to instruct primarily in the Department of Justice 720 Law Enforcement curriculum.Preference will be given to candidates with Defensive Tactics and/or Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) Certifications.Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable under the district's standard insurance policy terms.Flexible instructional schedule.Ability to travel as needed.This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing in accordance with College policy. Successful completion of all required screenings is a condition of employment.Preferred QualificationsSpecialized areas of instruction would include: unified tactics, constitutional law, and fitness.Previous teaching experience with adult learners.Unified tactical instructional experience.PHYSICAL DEMANDSMobility: Ability to navigate throughout campus and work environments, including classrooms, labs, clinical settings, operational spaces, and community-based instructional environments. Some positions may require movement on lifts, ladders, scaffolding, or within confined spaces.Manual Dexterity: Ability to operate tools, instructional equipment, machinery, technology, controls, or other equipment required for the position, including pushing, pulling, or maneuvering equipment as needed.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ability to safely utilize required protective equipment, when applicable.Material Handling: Ability to transport, move, lift, or carry materials and equipment required for the position, with or without assistance or adaptive equipment, if applicable.Environmental Conditions: Some positions may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, outdoor conditions, industrial environments, laboratory settings, or other position-specific work environments.Communication: Ability to effectively access, interpret, and exchange information with students, employees, and community members.Reasonable Accommodations Statement To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
