Payroll Associate– Multi-State Payroll | Dayforce |California Payroll | Hybrid Location: Santa Monica, CA (Hybrid – 4 DaysOnsite / 1 Day Remote) Job Type: Contract (Long-Term) Pay: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour We are seeking an experienced PayrollAssociate/Specialist to join a collaborative payroll team supporting alarge, multi-state workforce. This is an excellent opportunity for a payrollprofessional with strong knowledge of California payroll laws , multi-statepayroll processing , and Ceridian Dayforce experience. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, thrives in afast-paced environment, and is passionate about delivering accurate payrollwhile providing exceptional customer service to employees. What You'll Do Processaccurate and timely payroll for hourly and salaried employees acrossmultiple states. Reviewpayroll data, reports, and calculations to ensure payroll accuracy andcompliance. Enterand maintain payroll-related employee information, including new hires,terminations, promotions, transfers, and position changes. Processpayroll adjustments, corrections, and journal entries as needed. Auditpayroll and timekeeping data to identify and resolve discrepancies. Manageemployee wage garnishments and ensure compliance with applicable federaland state regulations. Researchand resolve payroll-related questions from employees and externalagencies. Processand audit HRIS and timekeeping system interfaces. Preparestandard and ad hoc payroll reports and maintain accurate payroll records. Partnerwith Finance, HR, and other departments on payroll-related projects andprocess improvements. Provideoutstanding customer service by responding promptly to payroll inquiriesvia phone and email. Qualifications Minimum 2 yearsof payroll processing experience . Experienceprocessing multi-state payroll for hourly and salariedemployees. Strong,current knowledge of California payroll laws and regulations . Experiencewith payroll systems; Ceridian Dayforce is strongly preferred . Experienceworking with HRIS and time and attendance systems. Knowledgeof payroll audits, payroll corrections, and payroll compliance. Experienceadministering employee garnishments. AdvancedMicrosoft Excel skills, including: PivotTables VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP Formulasand reporting functions Excellentorganizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strongcommunication and customer service skills. Abilityto maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive payroll information. Strongtime management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities andmeet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experiencesupporting large employee populations. SAP orHRIS interface experience. Experiencepartnering with Finance or Accounting teams. Continuousimprovement or payroll process optimization experience.
