Talent Development Specialist

Main Functions The Talent Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining programs, frameworks, and tools that support role clarity, employee growth, career development, internal mobility, and succession planning. This role partners closely with managers and employees to create clear career pathways, clarify roles and responsibilities, define competencies, strengthen organizational skills, and deliver learning opportunities that prepare employees for current and future business needs. Key Responsibilities Build, maintain, and continuously improve the company’s job architecture, including job families, career levels, role classifications, competencies, and progression frameworks. Create, standardize, and maintain job descriptions, ensuring consistency in role expectations, skills, responsibilities, and competencies across the organization. Partner with business leaders to clarify roles, responsibilities, reporting structures, and organizational design needs that support business growth and workforce planning. Design and manage competency-based career pathways and career development frameworks that support employee growth, internal mobility, and succession planning. Collaborate with managers and employees to identify development needs, assess skill gaps, and support Individual Development Plans (IDPs) through targeted learning solutions. Design, coordinate, and administer learning and development programs that align with organizational priorities and employee development needs. Create, maintain, and manage learning content, career development resources, and training materials within the company’s learning and talent management platforms. Coordinate external training providers, certifications, and development programs while promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the organization. Administer talent management systems, maintain accurate talent, learning, and career development records, and ensure data integrity. Develop reports, dashboards, and insights related to employee development, skills, training effectiveness, career progression, and internal mobility to support business decisions. Support the Employee Success Team with other duties related to the employee life cycle, performance management, employee development, feedback reviews, compensation and special projects as needed. Attend and represent the company at internal and external events, both nationally and internationally, as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Technical Skills Required Bachelor’s degree in any field. 5+ years of experience in talent development, organizational development, people operations, learning and development, or a related field. Experience leading or managing enterprise-wide competency-based career paths. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, Copilot). Proficiency in English. Asset Experience with Absorb, Lattice, Workday or other similar platforms. Personal Abilities Required Excellent communication, facilitation, and change management abilities. Detail-oriented with the ability to balance consistency and flexibility. Strong project management skills, including prioritization, follow-through, timely execution, and ability to handle large sets of data, multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Passion for employee development, culture, and continuous improvement. Asset Having experience studying or working in different countries. General Criteria Required Travel: willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 15–20% of the time.
