Payroll Specialist

A well-established and growing organization in the construction industry is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its team in Tualatin. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing complex payroll processes, and partnering closely with employees and leadership to ensure accurate and timely payroll administration. Key Responsibilities Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule for a diverse employee population Maintain employee payroll records, earnings, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Administer prevailing wage and union payroll requirements, as applicable Review payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Partner with Human Resources regarding employee changes, benefits deductions, and leave-related payroll impacts Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for audits Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide exceptional customer service Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and reporting Support continuous improvement efforts within payroll processes and systems Qualifications 3+ years of payroll processing experience Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements Construction, union, or project-based payroll experience highly preferred Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion CPP certification is a plus, but not required What We're Looking For A self-starter who can work independently and manage competing priorities A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills Someone who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and takes pride in accuracy A payroll professional committed to providing outstanding support to employees and stakeholders Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary of $80,000-$85,000 Comprehensive benefits package Stable and growing organization Collaborative team environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the payroll function If you're a payroll professional looking for a long-term opportunity with a respected organization, we'd love to hear from you!
