Part‑Time Research Assistant Position Number: 8350275 | Work Modality: Fully Remote | Work Type: Part‑Time (Non‑Exempt) | Location: School of Nursing, Maywood‑Health Sciences Campus, Chicago, IL (Remote) Job Summary: The Part‑Time Research Assistant independently implements research procedures and supports day‑to‑day study operations for federally funded behavioral and clinical research studies. The role includes participant management, data quality, technical implementation, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to scientific dissemination under the direction of the Study Coordinator and investigators. Duties and Responsibilities Recruit, enroll, and retain participants through local and national efforts. Coordinate scheduling, monitor progress, and manage compensation documentation. Organize Parent Advisory Council meetings, prepare materials, and facilitate communication. Implement study protocols involving surveys, interviews, 7‑day EMA, and recorded family interactions. Build, manage, and troubleshoot electronic survey packets and EMA systems. Conduct virtual study visits, including with Spanish‑speaking participants, following established protocols. Assist with informed consent, assent, and study documentation oversight. Perform data entry, verification, coding, quality assurance, and management. Code interview and family interaction recordings, including Spanish language assignments. Assist with data analysis and interpretation. Identify protocol deviations and contribute to corrective actions. Maintain and update the study website and participant resources. Monitor website inquiries and coordinate responses. Mentor Research Assistant I staff and student assistants. Participate in research team meetings. Assist with abstracts, manuscripts, presentations, and dissemination activities. Perform other research‑related duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training through work experience. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, psychology, social work, health sciences, or related field. Minimum of one‑two years of experience supporting clinical or behavioral research. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail. Availability for flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or graduate degree in nursing (BSN, MSN, or equivalent). Experience with individuals/families living with spina bifida or other chronic health conditions. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. Knowledge and commitment to Loyola University Chicago mission and the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing. Compensation Hourly rate: $25–$30 per hour.
