Join us and help run what runs the world. Reporting to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed and will showcase your skills by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education and employment opportunities. The work model for the role is onsite or hybrid in Athens, GA. No relocation assistance or stipend will be offered. Candidates must reside within a 50‑mile radius of the office and manage their own commuting arrangements. Accountable for: Collaborating with various teams to support ABB’s operations, ensuring effective coordination and timely project completion within the defined timelines. Leveraging insights about customer needs and ABB’s offerings to identify suitable solutions for clients, leading to project results that meet customer expectations. Participating in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and other collaborative efforts. Seeking feedback and guidance from manager and team members to improve performance and skills. Planning and performing routine and complex assignments related to the manufacturing of mechanical or electrical components used to manufacture electric motors. Preparing, releasing, and maintaining general and special operator instructions related to equipment, processes, and methods affecting manufacturing in the areas assigned. Maintaining the in‑house order routing system. Assisting Manufacturing Engineering Technicians or Manufacturing Engineers on projects as assigned. Qualifications for the role: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering in the United States. Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future. Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions. Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Exhibit the capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality. Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.
