Senior Action Officer

DescriptionSAIC is seeking a Senior Action Officer to support the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense in Critical Technologies (PDASD(CT) within the Office of the Under Secretary for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). The Senior Action Officer will support developing and maintaining work products that enable management decision making, strategy development, initiative definition, action tracking and monitoring, meeting and workshop planning and execution. This position is hybrid remote. When onsite work will be at the Pentagon.Job Responsibilities:Develop, recommend, and implement modifications to current procedures and policies to improve efficiency; develop new standard operating procedures (SOPs).Provide organizational management to include staffing analysis; support director-level organizational surveys (seek feedback from the staff); provide recommendations on staffing efficiencies to accomplish organizational goals.Work with front office staff (e.g., workflow manager, legislative affairs) to assess impact of taskers and new laws/policy on the organization; support the development and tracking of taskers/action items assigned to the organization to facilitate timely senior leadership feedback and approval.Evaluate and advise on the organization, methods, and procedures for providing administrative support systems such as records, communications, directives, forms, files, and documentation (e.g., improvements organizational and project level data for ease of searching and sharing).Analyze management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems including the systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology.Recommend KM technology where applicable (e.g., advise on the potential benefits/uses of automation to improve the efficiency of administrative support or program operations).Develop monthly reports/briefs on significant activities with a focus on quantifiable progress; report on the effectiveness of projects and processes.Organize and facilitate internal and external communications on a wide array of subjects including internal and external tasks, program reviews, meetings, congressional events, invitations, speaking events, and resources.QualificationsRequired Clearance:Active TS/SCI clearanceUS citizenshipRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with fifteen (15) years experience; Masters with thirteen (13) years experienceAdditional years of experience accepted in lieu of degreeStrong leadership, problem identification/resolution skills, flexibility, initiative, and a proven ability to work with Senior Executives efficiently and effectivelyExcellent communication skillsExperience writing white papers, briefings, correspondence, and reportsExceptional organizational and teambuilding skills and interpersonal skillsExtensive experience in the Pentagon at OSD, Joint Staff, or other high-level organizationDesired Qualifications:Master’s degreeUnderstanding of JCIDS, PPBE process, POM cycle, CATMS/TMT or other tasking system, and Adaptive Acquisition FrameworkStrong knowledge of OSD-level organizational structure and understanding of the National Defense Strategy and DoD Modernization areasSenior Service College GraduateJob Field: Program ManagementTravel: Yes, 10 % of the Time
