Together, we work towards a unified goal of helping millions of Americans achieve aspirations of homeownership through the complete mortgage journey.A Typical DayThe Vice President General Accounting is responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining financial analytics and reporting to support the Companies’ financial products and determine the impact on Corporate Accounting. As the VP General Accounting, you will also be responsible for accurately performing time-sensitive duties with accountability and flexibility, utilizing strategic/critical thinking and demonstrating appropriate organizational and prioritization skills to accomplish goals and objectives.The VP General Accounting will:Evaluate financial products and report on the impact of new business lines and products to Corporate AccountingCoordinate with unit managers regarding their variance analysis and summarize into monthly senior management reportingFacilitate integration of new business lines and products into departmental operations, including preparation of complex general ledger entries and process flow documentationPerform analysis and reporting to support ad hoc management and compliance requestsIdentify opportunities for accounting process efficiencies including technology solutionsSupport preparation of SEC and regulatory financial reporting packages and statements for parent and subsidiaryPerform other related duties as required and assignedDemonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and valuesWhat You’ll BringBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience7+ years of relevant work experienceMust be strong to advanced in Excel (complex formulas and pivot tables)Must be proficient with Visio and PowerPointMS SQL skills beneficial, not requiredPublic Accounting experience beneficial, not requiredWhy You Should JoinAs one of the top mortgage lenders in the country, Pennymac has helped over 4 million lifetime homeowners achieve and sustain their aspirations of home.
