Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Willis-Knighton Health System.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

• First time travelers must have 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute care
• Skills: Wound management, JP drains, wound vacs, Hemodialysis Catheter care, Fistulas, PCA, pain management, cardiac rhythm interpretation (telemetry capabilities), non-titratable cardiac drips

Required Credentials: Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival

Unit Facility Details: -Parking: Free parking in designated areas

Shift & Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: every other
• Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week – this is mandatory
• Holiday Expectations: will work 2/3 holidays

Floating Requirements: Any Med/Surg area within the hospital - Travelers float first

7 days maximum time off

2 references required from within the last 12 months

Proof of identification required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
