Assistant Controller

Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a non-profit organization in Midtown Manhattan to bring an experienced Assistant Controller to their team. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations as well as supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, with a strong focus on maintaining the integrity of operating accounts. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations within a nonprofit fund accounting environment, with a focus on maintaining the accuracy and integrity of operating accounts Prepare and review general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Assist with and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting Support the annual audit process, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and coordination with external auditors Partner with the Controller to manage and report on restricted funds, endowment activity, and investment balances Monitor and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with nonprofit GAAP and organizational policies Supervise and mentor accounting staff while remaining hands-on in daily accounting functions Collaborate cross-functionally with finance team members and other departments to support financial operations and reporting needs Beacon Hill is an equal opportunity employer and individuals with disabilities and/or protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
