Assistant Controller

Summary

Whitecap Search is seeking a dedicated professional to join our company client's team. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, maintaining financial schedules, and supporting multiple financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Job Function

• Coordinate with loan/fund administrator, auditors, and tax partners.
• Maintain loan accrual schedules and reconcile to loan admin books.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly investor reporting.
• Support the quarterly valuation process.
• Support capital calls, distributions, and performance calculations.
• Maintain the track record for the Fund and the loan portfolio.
• Support the firm's compliance program alongside third-party partner firm.
• Assist in the review and production of monthly closings and reporting.
• Assist with budgeting and variance analysis for revenue and operating expenses.
• Assist with cash forecasting and maintenance of 16-week forecast.
• Assist in developing and enhancing accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting workflows including coordination with AI initiative.
• Partner cross-functionally with investment, compliance, investor relations, and operations teams.
• Participate in strategic finance initiatives, system implementations, and ad hoc analyses.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
• 2-6 years of accounting and/or public audit experience, preferably within alternatives.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, partnership and fund accounting, and investment accounting concepts.
• Familiarity with management company accounting and operating entity financials.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with senior management.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take ownership.
