Commercial Credit Manager

Our client, a well-established community bank in New Jersey, is seeking an experienced Commercial Credit Manager to oversee its credit underwriting function. This role reports directly to the Chief Credit Officer and is responsible for managing a team of credit analysts while ensuring sound underwriting practices that align with the bank’s risk appetite and growth objectives. Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts, overseeing the underwriting process for commercial lending. Review, structure, and approve credit proposals, ensuring adherence to the bank’s credit policies and regulatory guidelines. Collaborate with relationship managers and executive leadership to support loan origination and portfolio management. Assess credit risk across various industries and lending structures, providing guidance on complex credit decisions. Enhance and implement underwriting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and risk management. Provide regular reporting and insights to senior management on credit quality and portfolio performance. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of commercial credit experience within a banking environment. Proven leadership experience in credit underwriting and risk assessment. Strong knowledge of commercial lending, financial statement analysis, and regulatory compliance. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
