Chief of Staff

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Chief of Staff to serve as the primary operational and administrative partner to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) . This highly visible role supports the day-to-day success of the clinical organization by coordinating operations, improving workflows, overseeing key administrative functions, and supporting the development of clinical staff. The ideal candidate is a highly organized leader who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare or veterinary environment and enjoys partnering with executive leadership to drive operational excellence. You'll help drive operational excellence, support clinical teams, and play a key part in improving workflows, employee experience, and the delivery of exceptional patient care. Highlights Schedule: 100% Onsite, Monday-Friday (5 days/week) Pay Rate: Up to $60/hour Position is Contract for the next 6 months (could extend) Leadership Role: Serve as the primary operational partner and strategic support to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) while collaborating with executive leadership to optimize clinical operations. Industry: Veterinary / Healthcare Operations Key Responsibilities Serve as a trusted advisor and operational partner to the Chief Medical Officer. Oversee clinician scheduling, staffing coordination, timekeeping, and payroll support across multiple departments. Lead onboarding and offboarding for clinical staff, including orientation, training coordination, and administrative processes. Manage veterinary mentorship and professional development programs. Partner with executive leadership to implement strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and quality performance metrics. Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and Operations to streamline processes and resolve operational challenges. Support compliance initiatives, maintain standard operating procedures, and monitor key performance indicators. Coordinate continuing education, licensing, credential renewals, and professional memberships. Train clinical staff on practice management systems and administrative workflows. Lead or support projects that improve patient care, employee engagement, and operational effectiveness. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in healthcare, veterinary, hospital, or clinical operations leadership. Strong experience supporting senior or executive leaders in a clinical setting. Experience with scheduling, staff coordination, onboarding, and administrative operations. Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills. Experience with payroll systems, scheduling software, HRIS, or practice management systems is preferred.
