We are looking for an organized Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Marina, California. This opportunity is ideal for someone who brings solid accounting experience, works carefully with financial records, and can contribute in a fast-moving service environment. The role offers meaningful exposure to core accounting functions and may develop into a longer-term opportunity based on business needs and performance.

Responsibilities:
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare deposit documentation and coordinate timely submission of checks to banking institutions.
• Assist with general ledger activities, including entering financial data, updating account details, and supporting record accuracy.
• Process vendor invoices and payment transactions while ensuring proper coding, approval, and documentation.
• Support billing and invoicing activities to help maintain timely customer and client account processing.
• Contribute to year-end 1099 preparation by gathering payment information and helping organize required reporting details.
• Provide audit support by compiling financial documents and responding to internal or external information requests.
• Work closely with accounting team members to complete deadlines, improve accuracy, and keep routine processes running smoothly.• 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally within a high-volume or fast-paced work setting.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, including D365, in an accounting or financial support capacity.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and bank reconciliation activities.
• Familiarity with invoice coding and financial data entry best practices.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently.
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
• Associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
